Central Administration

The Central Administration Department is the Secretariat of the Metropolitan Assembly and shall be responsible for the provision of support services, effective and efficient general administration and organization of the Assembly. The Central Administration Department consists of the underlisted units, which support the administration of the Assembly.

Mission

To provide excellent administrative support services and coordinate the activities of all departments and units of the Assembly for effective service delivery to the people of Cape Coast Metropolis.

Core Functions & Responsibilities

  • The Head of the Central Administration serves as a Secretary to the Assembly and chairs the Metropolitan Planning and Coordinating Unit (MPCU).
  • The Head of the Central Administration acts as an advisor to the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE).
  • Coordinate the activities of all departments and units of the Assembly.
  • Manage official correspondence and communications of the Assembly.
  • Organize and service Assembly meetings, including the preparation of agenda and minutes.
  • Oversee the implementation of Assembly decisions and policies.
  • Provide administrative support for sub-metro activities.
