A major milestone was recorded on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, as distinguished sons and daughters of Cape Coast gathered in Accra for a landmark Forum and Fundraising Ceremony to support the implementation of the metropolis’ ambitious 8-Year Development Plan.
Held at the Lancaster Hotel, the high-profile event attracted key stakeholders, including business leaders, heads of institutions, clergy, media practitioners, and passionate indigenes, all united by a shared vision to accelerate the transformation of Cape Coast.
In a remarkable demonstration of commitment, all five priority projects scheduled for execution this year under the development plan were fully adopted by individuals and institutions. Notable contributors included Frank Hutchful, Charlotte Osei, and Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, alongside other benevolent stakeholders. Additional support was received from Assembly Members, the Conference of Heads of Basic Schools, and other partners.
The ceremony was chaired by prominent Ghanaian entrepreneur Samuel Nana Brew-Butler. Other dignitaries in attendance included the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Kwamena Minta Nyarku; Nana Kwesi Egyin II; and several high-profile personalities from across sectors.
The event underscored a strong collective resolve among stakeholders to support the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly in delivering its long-term development agenda.
With the successful adoption of key projects, the Assembly’s 8-Year Development Plan has gained significant momentum, reinforcing hopes for a stronger, modern, and more prosperous Cape Coast.
