On Monday, 22nd June 2026, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, attended the launch of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) Week Celebration at the School of Graduate Studies Auditorium of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The ceremony brought together distinguished personalities from academia and public service, including the Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, UCC, faculty members, graduate students, and other invited guests.
Addressing participants at the event, Hon. George Justice Arthur reaffirmed the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote local economic development and sustainable growth. He highlighted the Assembly's Cape Coast 8-Year Development Plan as a strategic roadmap for transforming the metropolis, creating opportunities, and improving the quality of life for residents through inclusive and sustainable development.
The event also provided a platform for insightful discussions on leadership, innovation, research, and the critical role of graduate students in advancing national development and addressing emerging socio-economic challenges.
Commending GRASAG-UCC for organizing the celebration, the Mayor encouraged graduate students to harness their knowledge, skills, and research expertise to develop innovative solutions that contribute to the socio-economic transformation of Cape Coast and Ghana as a whole.
