Cape Coast Landmark School Marks 189 Years of Academic Excellence

On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, Wesley Girls’ High School celebrated a remarkable milestone, marking its 189th Anniversary alongside its annual Speech & Prize-Giving Day in a vibrant ceremony held on the school’s grounds.

The colourful event drew distinguished personalities, including the Osaberima Dr. Kwesi Atta II; the George Justice Arthur, Mayor of Cape Coast and member of the Council of State; revered chiefs, clergy, alumni, parents, media representatives, and other well-wishers.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards by the Mayor to immediate past students who excelled in the WASSCE examinations. This recognition celebrated the school’s enduring legacy of academic excellence, discipline, and leadership development.

The event served as a reminder of Wesley Girls’ High School’s remarkable contribution to shaping generations of outstanding women and leaders in Ghana.
