Education continues to be a cornerstone of development in Cape Coast, as authorities invest in infrastructure to create conducive learning environments for pupils.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Mayor of Cape Coast, George Justice Arthur, together with the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Kwamena Minta Nyarku, the Metro Education Directorate, and the Nananom of Esuekyir, commissioned a newly constructed 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Esuekyir M/A Basic School.
Funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and aligned with the Cape Coast Metropolis’ 8-Year Development Plan, the project addresses the school’s classroom deficit while providing an enhanced environment for effective teaching and learning.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Metro Education Director, the Regional Education Director, school staff, pupils, and other distinguished community members.
This initiative underscores the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly’s continued commitment to improving educational infrastructure and investing in the future of children across the metropolis.
