Adisadel Refuse Dump Cleared for New Pedestrian Footbridge Project
The Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, together with the Central Regional Director of Urban Roads and the Cape Coast Metropolitan Director of Urban Roads, Ing. Okpoti, on Wednesday, 14th January 2026, inspected the refuse dump site at Adisadel. The site is currently being cleared to make way for the construction of a pedestrian footbridge at St. Nicholas Anglican JHS along the Adisadel stretch.
For many years, the area has served as a refuse dump. Its ongoing clearance forms part of broader efforts to improve sanitation, enhance road safety, and ensure the safe movement of pedestrians—particularly schoolchildren and residents who use the busy stretch daily.
The Mayor reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to transforming key areas within the metropolis by improving urban infrastructure and prioritising the safety and wellbeing of residents, as Cape Coast continues to pursue sustainable development.
