Mayor, MP Join Muslims in Cape Coast to Celebrate Eid al-Fitr

Leaders in Cape Coast joined the Muslim community in a spirit of unity and thanksgiving on March 21, 2026, to mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, signifying the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Mayor of Cape Coast, George Justice Arthur, together with the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South, George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, joined the Regional Chief Imam and Muslim faithful at the Eid Grounds near Holy Child School for prayers. The delegation later visited the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at the GBC (Radio Central) grounds to share in the celebrations.

Addressing the gathering, both leaders described Eid as a time of joy, gratitude, and reflection. They emphasized that the values cultivated during Ramadan—discipline, sacrifice, compassion, and generosity—should continue to guide daily life and foster unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

They reaffirmed their commitment to inclusive development, stressing that sustainable national progress requires the collective effort of both leadership and citizens, with no group left behind.

Highlighting Ghana’s longstanding reputation for religious harmony, the leaders urged citizens to preserve this legacy by promoting unity and rejecting all forms of division.

Leaders of the Muslim community expressed appreciation for the visit and continued support, offering prayers for wisdom and success for both leaders.

The Mayor and the MP also extended warm Eid greetings to Muslims across Cape Coast, expressing hope for lasting peace, stability, and prosperity for the nation
