Mayor Marks Ahobaa Festivals with Development Pledges
                                            
                                                On Saturday, 30th August 2025, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, joined the Chiefs and people of Kwaprow, Akotokyir, and Abura in celebrating their respective Ahobaa Festivals.
In his remarks, the Mayor highlighted the unifying power of culture and tradition, while assuring residents of the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to development. He also outlined several ongoing and upcoming projects spearheaded by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Cape Coast North, Hon. Dr. Kwamena Minta Nyarku. These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, enhance social amenities, and address the pressing needs of the communities.
The various Chiefs used the occasion to raise concerns about challenges facing their towns, including infrastructure gaps and community welfare issues, appealing to the Assembly and stakeholders for urgent interventions. Mayor Arthur reassured the traditional authorities and residents that their concerns would be prioritized in the Assembly’s development agenda. He further called for unity and collaboration between the Assembly, traditional leaders, and community members to drive progress across the Metropolis.
The Mayor's participation in the Ahobaa Festivals underscored the Assembly’s recognition of the vital role of traditional institutions in governance and community development, as well as its commitment to engaging citizens at all levels.
