Mayor Supports Special Schools with Donation Drive

On Friday, 19th September 2025, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, together with officials from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, visited Aboom Special School and the Cape Coast School for the Deaf/Blind to present a thoughtful donation in support of the education and wellbeing of students with special needs.

The Mayor and his team donated essential supplies, including packs of carbonated drinks, bags of sachet water, boxes of biscuits, toilet rolls, washing powder, exercise books, erasers, pencils, and other learning materials. The gesture was warmly received by school authorities and students, who expressed deep gratitude for the continued support and encouragement.

This outreach initiative was further strengthened through the partnership of Kings and Queens Ministry, who contributed additional items to complement the donation — demonstrating the impact of collaboration between public institutions and faith-based or private organizations in addressing community needs.

The donation forms part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to promoting inclusive education and ensuring that children with disabilities have equal access to resources that enhance learning and development. Hon. George Justice Arthur reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to building a city that leaves no one behind — where compassion, inclusion, and opportunity define the path to progress.

Acts such as these go beyond charity; they embody the spirit of community and remind us of all, that together, we can create a more caring, inclusive, and equitable Cape Coast.
