Cape Coast, July 3, 2025 — The Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, on Thursday held a pivotal meeting with the clergy of the city, seeking their spiritual guidance, support, and partnership in shaping a shared vision for the future of the Metropolis.

At the gathering, the Mayor unveiled the draft framework of the city’s 8-Year Development Plan, inviting the religious community to offer input and constructive feedback. He stressed that the plan’s success rests on broad collaboration, with the church playing a vital role in promoting unity, social responsibility, and community development. “Building the Cape Coast we all envision is not a task for government alone,” Mayor Arthur remarked. “It requires partnership, prayer, and the active participation of all stakeholders, especially the church.”

Beyond the long-term development strategy, the Mayor also rallied the clergy to support an upcoming Metro-wide Clean-Up Exercise, an initiative designed to improve sanitation and advance environmental sustainability across Cape Coast.
