Hon. George Arthur Engages Market Women at Kotokuraba

As part of his hands-on leadership approach, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, paid a working visit to the Kotokuraba Market yesterday to engage directly with traders and market women. The visit provided an important platform for the Mayor to listen to the concerns of the traders on critical issues affecting the market, including sanitation, security, stall allocations, and strategies to decongest the market for improved vehicular movement and accessibility. Hon. Arthur acknowledged the vital role market women play in sustaining the local economy and assured them of the Assembly's commitment to enhancing the market environment. He emphasized that addressing these challenges requires collective effort and active collaboration between the Assembly and market stakeholders. “Kotokuraba Market is the heartbeat of commerce in Cape Coast. Improving its cleanliness, safety, and accessibility is not just an Assembly priority but a shared responsibility,” the Mayor stated. This engagement forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to strengthen relationships with market communities, ensuring that their concerns are addressed while fostering a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant trading environment for all.
