CCTU Leadership Meets Mayor Arthur to Explore Strategic Collaboration

The leadership of Cape Coast Technical University has reaffirmed its commitment to strategic collaboration with the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) to advance education and youth development in the metropolis.

On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, a delegation led by the Vice Chancellor, Kwaku Adutwum Boakye, paid a courtesy call on the Metropolitan Chief Executive, George Justice Arthur, to formally welcome him on his appointment and discuss potential areas of partnership.

The MCE expressed his gratitude to CCTU for supporting the commissioning of the Sewin Police Station within the University’s jurisdiction, which is set to be formalized as the official CCTU Police Station. He congratulated the Vice Chancellor and emphasized the Assembly’s readiness to work with the University in youth skills development initiatives.

During the visit, the Vice Chancellor highlighted ongoing initiatives at CCTU, including infrastructure expansion, increased student enrollment, enhanced e-learning facilities, and strengthened vocational and skills training programmes. He invited the MCE to tour the University’s Visit Centre at Bakaano and stressed the institution’s readiness to partner with the Assembly in fields such as electronics, fashion, and other vocational skills.

In response, Mayor Arthur reaffirmed his support for skills training and youth employment initiatives. He encouraged the University to inform the Assembly of opportunities for non-teaching staff to facilitate collaboration and assured management of the Assembly’s support as the revenue task force extends operations to the University.

The meeting concluded with both parties pledging to build a strong, mutually beneficial partnership aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and promoting sustainable community development in Cape Coast.
