CCMA organizes Metro-wide Clean-up Exercise
The Waste Management Department as part of its mandate to keep the city clean carried out One metro-wide clean-up exercise which took place on the 3rd of June 2023.
The exercise was carried out in collaboration with major stakeholders, supervised by environmental health officers and staff of the Metropolitan Assembly.
Activities carried out during the cleanup exercise are as follows:
- Desilting of drains along major streets.
- Sweeping of public places like markets and lorry parks.
- Weeding along streets and public spaces.
- Cleaning of surroundings and homes of individuals.
- Hauling of refuse that was generated from exercise.
Stakeholders involved in this activity included but was not limited to: Waste Management Department of CCMA, Ghana Prisons Service, Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC), Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Youth Employment Agency, City Guards of CCMA.
