Tourism, development, and sanitation have been identified as key pillars in advancing sustainable growth and urban excellence in Cape Coast, as city authorities intensify efforts to reposition the historic metropolis.
In line with this vision, the Mayor of Cape Coast, George Justice Arthur, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, inaugurated and inducted the second cohort of CCMA Tourism and Development Ambassadors, alongside the maiden cohort of Sanitation Ambassadors.
The initiative is aimed at mobilising influential individuals and stakeholders to champion the city’s development agenda, particularly in promoting tourism, improving environmental cleanliness, and enhancing the overall image of Cape Coast.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the induction of the General Overseer of Moulders Chapel International, Emmanuel Abeiku Aggrey, as the Dean of all Ambassadors.
Accepting the appointment, Prophet Dr. Aggrey expressed profound gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the city. He noted his deep personal connection to Cape Coast, describing it as the place where he was born and raised.
In a show of support for the Assembly’s sanitation drive, he pledged to donate 50 large dustbins to help improve waste management across the metropolis.
The initiative underscores the Assembly’s commitment to fostering partnerships and collective responsibility in building a cleaner, more vibrant, and prosperous Cape Coast
