Cape Coast Celebrates 40th National Farmers Day
On Friday, 8th November 2024, the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, celebrated the 40th National Farmers Day at Victoria Park. The event, themed Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security, highlighted the critical role of farmers in ensuring food security, providing raw materials, and contributing to foreign exchange earnings for both the district and the nation.
The celebration featured an Agricultural Fair and the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers who have made significant contributions to agriculture in the region. The awards recognized the hard work and dedication of those whose efforts benefit the local community and the country as a whole.
The event was honored by the presence of key dignitaries, including Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Metropolitan Chief Executive Hon. Ernest Arthur, Metropolitan Coordinating Director Mr. Asumah Braimah, and the Metropolitan Head of Agriculture, Madam Olympia. Also in attendance were staff, assembly members, traditional council members, and the local community.
