Human Resource Department
The Human Resource Department is mainly responsible for managing; developing capabilities and competencies of each staff as well as coordinating human resources management programmes to efficiently deliver public services in the Local Government Service (LGS).
As at the second quarter of 2021, the Human Resource Department of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly manages a total of One Hundred and Eight-Five (185) Government of Ghana (GoG) Staff as well as One Hundred and Sixteen (116) Staff employed and paid by the Assembly's Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

- Formulate and implement human resource policies and plans.
- Coordinate staff recruitment, placement and promotion processes.
- Administer staff training, development and capacity building programmes.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and data.
- Manage staff discipline, grievances and welfare.
- Process payroll inputs and manage staff emoluments.
- Administer performance appraisal systems.
- Ensure compliance with the Local Government Service Act and related regulations.
