The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, on Monday, 22nd June 2026, attended the Dean's Awards and Induction Ceremony of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Cape Coast (UCC) as the Special Guest of Honour.

The ceremony brought together distinguished personalities from academia and the health sector, including the Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer of the Central Regional Health Directorate, the Dean of the College of Health and Allied Sciences, faculty members, healthcare professionals, and invited guests.

A major highlight of the event was the induction of Nursing and Midwifery students, who were formally robed in their white uniforms and ushered into the clinical phase of their training. The occasion marked an important milestone in their academic and professional journey as they transitioned from classroom instruction to hands-on clinical practice.

In his address, Hon. George Justice Arthur congratulated the students on reaching this significant stage of their training and encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and compassionate care throughout their careers. He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly to supporting initiatives that strengthen healthcare delivery, public health, and human resource development within the metropolis.

The ceremony celebrated academic excellence, professional growth, and the dedication of the next generation of nurses and midwives, whose contributions will be instrumental in advancing quality healthcare delivery across Ghana.
