MeetingCCMA supports Persons-With-Disabilities (PWDs)
The management of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly on 14th June 2022 together with the Social Welfare Department and Community supported various Persons-With-Disabilities in the Metropolis. This presentation was made as a result of recommendations by the Disability Fund Management Committee.
In line with the stipulations of the guidelines for operating the Disability fund, the committee allocated funds for Business Support, Special needs support and Organizational support among others.
Twenty-two (22) PWDs comprising of twelve (12) males and ten (10) females were provided various forms of business support.
Items presented included one industrial sewing machine, one knitting machine, one embroidery machine one Fufu pounding machine, key cutting machine, six deep freezers, two metal containers.
Eight (8) petty traders were also supported based on the kind of trading they are into for example, rice. Oils, boxes of chicken, charcoal, flour among others.
Thirty-nine (39) PWDs made up of 19 males and 14 females were also provided various forms of special needs (medication, educational and assistive devices etc).
