Human Resource Department
The Human Resource Department is mainly responsible for managing; developing capabilities and competencies of each staff as well as coordinating human resources management programmes to efficiently deliver public services in the Local Government Service (LGS).
As at the second quarter of 2021, the Human Resource Department of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly manages a total of One Hundred and Eight-Five (185) Government of Ghana (GoG) Staff as well as One Hundred and Sixteen (116) Staff employed and paid by the Assembly's Internally Generated Funds (IGF) .

Core Objectives
The Metropolitan Human Resource Department shall:
- Develop and maintain a decentralized HRM system.
- Manage effectively the HR capacity to improve the quality of Service: (Recruitment, Promotion, Retirement, etc.)
- Develop the Human Resources to implement effectively, policies, programmes and projects of Government (training, etc).
- Implement Performance Management Scheme .
- Ensure good Employee-Labour Relations.
- Develop and maintain a Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS).
