The Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, visited communities and health facilities in the Cape Coast Metropolis on Friday, 14th February 2025, following the recent cholera outbreak in the country.
The visit aimed to assess the situation, interact with health officials, and ensure that essential resources were available to manage the outbreak. During engagements with residents, the Minister emphasized the need for improved sanitation and hygiene practices to curb the spread of the disease.
At the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital, health officials briefed him on the increasing number of cases and their ongoing response efforts. Hon. Eduamoah assured them of the government’s support in providing necessary medical supplies and resources.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid contaminated food and water, and seek medical attention if symptoms arise. Authorities have since intensified public awareness campaigns to prevent further infections.
