The Central regional Controller and Accountants General's Department in conjunction with the HR Department of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly and the Procurement, Internal Audit, Budget & Rating and Finance Departments organized a sensitization program on GIFMIS (Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System) and GoG Payroll Management from 18th to 20th June 2024.
GIFMIS was developed as a charter for public financial management with the objective to produce a unified chart of accounts and budget classification for budgeting, accounting and reporting.
The training program included various other departments and units within the Assembly who either directly or indirectly interact with the GIFMIS application. The workshop was basically to take participants through the basic tenets of GIFMIS and Payroll Management to make them well equipped for their respective assignments.
