Mayor Inspects Site for Adisadel Footbridge and 24-Hour Economy Market Projects

On 1st October 2025, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, led a team from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) on an inspection visit to Adisadel, where the entrances of Adisadel College, St. Nicholas Anglican JHS, and the Adisadel Post Office are located.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the site for the soon-to-commence footbridge project, designed to enhance the safety of students and road users in the area. During the visit, the Mayor and his team engaged with project consultants and engineers, urging them to expedite the construction process to prevent further risks to pedestrians, especially schoolchildren who cross the busy road daily.

In addition, the team inspected land at Adisadel (State Housing) earmarked for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Market — a strategic initiative aimed at boosting local commerce, creating jobs, and stimulating night-time economic activity within the Metropolis.

These projects form part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to infrastructure development, safety, and economic transformation in Cape Coast.
