Cape Coast Mayor Hosts Captain Smart to Discuss Key Development Projects
On Sunday, 28th September 2025, the Mayor of Cape Coast, Hon. George Justice Arthur, hosted renowned broadcaster Captain Smart of Media General (Onua Group) at his office for a strategic discussion on key developmental initiatives aimed at transforming the Cape Coast Metropolis.
Their deliberations centered on revitalizing the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital, which is in urgent need of renovation, and redeveloping Victoria Park into a modern football park — one that will serve as a training ground for young talents while continuing to host major national events.
The two also explored opportunities to position the historic Philip Quaque Anglican Boys School as a tourism attraction, celebrating its legacy and historical significance to the city. In addition, they discussed collaborative efforts to support Ebusua Dwarfs, with the shared goal of helping the city’s beloved football club secure promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
Captain Smart was accompanied by Aunty Nyaniba of TW Radio and other distinguished guests. The meeting underscored the importance of partnerships between local government and media influencers in driving development, fostering civic pride, and shaping the future of Cape Coast.
